Video Archive 75 – One of the nice things about getting er – old – er is that your early music becomes vintage, especially if it is on vinyl. So I’m delighted to see some of my Atmosphere Music library records from the analogue glory days of the 1980s being included in sample collections by young – er – remixers ! If you use a sample don’t forget to send me a copy of your mix!
Video Archive 74 – Another gem I’ve just been sent – Cyndi Lauper at home in my hat days – is it really 20 years ago? Shurely some mistake . . .
Video Archive 73 – A beautiful version of The Christmas Waltze –
Medora Chevalier and Zimp Rexie dance to the Music Box version of Phil Jackson’s Christmas Waltze at New Imagine at Heckroth in the Virtual World of Second Life.
Video Archive 72 – Hot off the press – an 8 bit asthetic mashup of the Christmas Waltze by Clarissa Vincent and yours truly cutting and splicing and regurgitating – in the nicest possible way of course. Some great versions coming in now ‘I thought you’d always be here’ shows Clarissa Vincent’s re-imagining the Christmas Waltze – video mashup by Jan Pulsford
What dya think Phil Jackson? http://ift.tt/1fSKaUw
Video Archive 71 – Congratulations to Cyndi Lauper and her musical Kinky Boots which opens this week in London! Here’s the official video to the song ‘Sisters of Avalon’ – recognised in Cyndi’s recent induction into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame as ‘one of Lauper’s key songs in her catalog.’The chant of empowerment mixes a story of FGM and how all women feel the pain of another sister. I couldn’t make the video shoot so Cyndi made a visual statement about empowering people with disabilities by placing the keyboard player in a wheelchair.
